Celebrity charity event hosted by NASCAR’s Denny Hamlin, Hootie & the Blowfish’s Mark Bryan and Entrepreneur Denis Gallagher taking place October 26-27 with a portion of the event’s proceeds going toward the Emanuel AME Moving Forward Fund

CHARLESTON, SC (October 1, 2015) – The 4th Annual Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam hosted by the Student Transportation of America Education Foundation (STAEF) will combine the worlds of racing and music once again taking place on October 26th and 27th on Daniel Island in Charleston, SC. The two-day celebrity golf and music event will feature a private ‘Mark Bryan & Friends’ Jam concert presented by SunTrust on Monday, October 26th on the back lawn at the Daniel Island Club along with a silent and live auction. The Celebrity Pro-Am takes place on Tuesday, October 27nd on the award-winning Ralston Creek Course. A portion of this year’s funds raised will go toward the Emanuel AME Moving Forward Fund through a special t-shirt promotion that will take place during the event celebrating ‘Charleston Strong’.

This year’s celebrity participants once again include some of the greats from the worlds of racing, music, entertainment and sports. Denny Hamlin will represent the world of NASCAR along with Kasey Kahne, Dale Jarrett, Michael Waltrip, Steve Letarte, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and others.

Mark Bryan will lead the Jam with his friends in the music industry including fellow band members from Hootie & the Blowfish, Scott Stapp of CREED, Chris Barron of The Spin Doctors, Aaron Lewis of Staind, Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC, country legend Johnny Lee, singer/songwriter Steve Azar, 14-time Grammy winner Dan Tyminski and many others friends from the worlds of country, pop and rock performing for the crowd of athletes, celebs and other VIPs in attendance.

The sports greats scheduled to attend include Super Bowl Champion NFL Coach and NASCAR Championship Team Owner Joe Gibbs, NHL Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr, NBA legend Rick Barry, and former NFL, NCAA standout and actor Ed Marinaro.

Celebrities will continue to be announced up until the date of the event and several surprise guests are expected to be added to the impressive list of participants.

The event has raised and subsequently donated over $500,000 in its three year history. In addition to some of the proceeds benefitting the Emanuel AME Moving Forward Fund, the remaining proceeds from this year’s event will go to the Denny Hamlin Foundation, Carolina Studios and STAEF, which is the philanthropic arm of Student Transportation Inc. (STI), North America’s largest independent provider of school transportation. The charities all share a common mission in creating better opportunities for children.

The Denny Hamlin Foundation raises awareness and funds for the specific needs of children with cystic fibrosis. Again this year, the foundation is allocating its share of charitable proceeds to the MUSC Children’s Hospital for Cystic Fibrosis research.

“The Pro-Am Jam just gets bigger every year and we keep raising the bar in the amount of fun and fundraising,” said Hamlin, whose charitable foundation has given over $100,000 to MUSC Children’s Hospital since the first Pro-Am Jam in 2012. “I don’t know which part of the event I enjoy more, the concert, golf, or the auction. But the best part is always when you see the smiles of the kids whose lives are being impacted.”

Carolina Studios, championed by Mark Bryan, is a non-profit that provides students in the Lowcountry a safe environment that fosters creative, educational, and career-focused initiatives through music technology and media arts. “Denny Hamlin wins! And so does everyone, especially the kids, as we partner with Denis Gallagher and STI for another Pro-Am Jam this fall on Daniel Island,” added Bryan. “Looking forward to hanging and playing golf with all the friends we’ve made over the last few years, and taking the stage for another killer jam.”

STAEF focuses on advancing the educational opportunities available to deserving high school seniors enrolled in the school districts it serves. Denis Gallagher, STI Chairman and CEO, stated, “Our Education Foundation was created to help students in the communities we serve with their desires to pursue higher education and we are thrilled to be able to provide these deserving students with some funds to help defray the cost. Denny and Mark have a similar devotion toward helping children through their charities, too, so it’s a great partnership making a difference in the lives of so many children.”

The Denny Hamlin Foundation, Carolina Studios and STAEF are grateful for the support of the following major sponsors: SunTrust, Blue Bird/Roush CleanTech, Navistar/IC Bus, Thomas Bus, Collins Bus, Toyota and FedEx.
